Company History |
|
Paul Farley, an experienced engineer and businessman , along with his wife Betty, purchased a small services company called Complete Sweep in 1987. At that point, it was a fraction of the current company’s size. He ran the company carefully, focusing on delivering excellent customer service, and successfully grew it to more than three and then four times its previous volume. As he grew, he also acquired other companies including M and S Sweeping Company.
Paul tells the humorous story of the time he and Betty purchased a new sweeper truck and personally traveled to California to take delivery. On their cross-country drive back to Dallas-Fort Worth in their stylish brand new power sweeping truck, they detoured to Las Vegas for some rest and recreation. You can imagine the shock (and horror) of the valet crew when Paul pulled up to the valet stand in his sweeping truck. Even the new ones don’t look like something that a valet would park. As they desperately waved him through (thinking he was there to work), Paul politely rolled down his window and exclaimed, “We’re not here to sweep, we’re here to stay!” Paul then instructed the shocked valet attendants to retrieve their bags which they had carefully stowed in the hopper (or the “dumper”).
In 2004, Farley began to talk to some family friends, the Mabry family, about selling the company and the discussions quickly became serious. The Mabrys were life-long residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and familiar with related service industries. Wishing to be fully familiar with the business and to build personal relationships with the customers before taking the helm, the Mabrys began at that time to be involved in sales and customer service at Complete Sweep. On April 1, 2005, the deal was closed and the Mabrys took over the ownership and management of Complete Sweep.
Paul and Betty continue to be involved as advisors in the company and as close friends of the family. The Mabrys appreciate so much the leadership Paul and Betty provided Complete Sweep for all the years they oversaw it and for the strong foundation they built.
Since acquiring the company, the Mabrys have added GPS equipment to each sweeping truck, implemented an unmatched quality control program, established Complete Sweep World Outreach, and expanded the services offering to Complete Sweep clients (including the Junk Patrol). |
